A brief history of
WIRED..
There have been
many great acoustic sessions in Broadstairs over the years…and we had
all jammed and listened at sometime. But, some of us players felt
the time had come to “plug in.” Back in 2005 Steve King and Kenn Wards
started investigating if such a session could be a possibility. A
venue was found and the rest as they say "is history." WIRED started
life above the Rose Inn in Broadstairs, early 2006 and moved on to
the Bradstow Mill at the beginning of 2008. After discussion with the
musicians and audiences it was decided to move to the Lord Nelson. The
Lord Nelson is now proving to be a popular venue with musicians and
audiences.
WIRED? tell me more..
WIRED is an
amplified music session which means that all players; be they
Electric, Acoustic, Electronic, Wind, or Percussion based will be able to
play together with the right balance and volume and actually be heard
by the audience and the musicians that you are playing with!
The session is
open to all players and anybody who wants to come and listen. “Wired” continually evolves. “Wired” is an experiment.
“Wired” will adapts to the needs and desires of its participants.. Both
players and audience have an input. “Wired” has been running from the
beginning of 2006 and has seen many performers of all ages and from
almost all styles of music. We welcome players of all levels of
experience.
Interested in
playing?
A house PA is
provided to cover the needs of vocalists and those of you with
acoustic instruments. If you play an electric/electronic instrument
bring your own amplification… remember this is a pub gig.. so a 100W
Marshall amp stack maybe a little impractical… please get in touch to
discuss what you might want to do.
